Funding for studying at the African Unity Center of Excellence
Care to Change the World
At the African Unity Center of Excellence, we are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder the pursuit of knowledge and innovation and to provide funding for studying as a package. While tuition fees are determined by the universities, we actively collaborate with partners such as the African Development Bank (AfDB) and other Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) through the Boost Africa Program. Our goal is to facilitate funding mechanisms that make higher education accessible, especially for those from underserved communities across Africa.
Through our advocacy and partnerships, we strive to create a sustainable funding model that benefits all stakeholders. Universities will be adequately supported, ensuring that they can continue providing world-class education, while students gain access to quality learning opportunities without being overburdened by financial constraints. This aligns with our commitment to the Social Global Goals, which emphasize equity and the empowerment of marginalized groups.
Funding packages under Boost Africa 2.0 are designed to cover a significant portion of tuition and related costs, blending grants and loans in a manner that mirrors the successful Swedish CSN system. This approach ensures flexibility and inclusivity, offering students the financial means to focus on their studies while gradually building self-reliance.
While we aim for comprehensive coverage, we recognize that funding may not always be 100%. Even so, our relentless efforts are directed toward bridging gaps and reducing financial stress for students. By fostering innovative solutions and leveraging partnerships, we ensure that education becomes a possibility for everyone, not just a privilege for the few.
